TweetBoxLive is no more
HI there, just wanted to put up a quick post to say that the TweetBoxLive Twitter SMS service is no more.
Sorry for any inconvenience, but I couldn’t afford to keep supporting it. Anyhow, Twitter is getting much better at supporting ingoing SMS messages now so check with Twitter for they’re official incoming SMS numbers.

I’ve put a lot of work into creating an SMS Service for twitter, just because I wanted to do it for myself and to see if I could. Well, good news is, I managed to do it over the last two weeks.
Of course, I hadn’t realised how popular it would become with other twitter users. So I’ve decided that this blog is going to be turned over to be a dedicated site for the Twitter SMS Service I have developed.
Making things look pretty may take me a little longer, I’m a coder not a designer, but I’ll get things looking smooth somehow. In the meantime why not give the service a try and see if you find it useful. Any feedback would be dearly welcomed, and the more users in different countries testing it out the better.
So try out my offer below of a FREE SMS FOR EACH USER to try it out.
Happy Tweeting!

Twitter SMS is Coming to a Mobile Phone Near You
I am so excited I can hardly express myself fully.
Twitter SMS Service launches on 1st February 2009
Now, you can see why I haven’t been posting anything these last two weeks. I was annoyed that my new found twitter addiction could not be fully realized when out and about via my mobile phone. So, I’ve only gone and created the whole thing myself. It’s been a steep learning curve exploring the exciting world of the Twitter API and the weird and wonderful world of mobile messaging, but I’ve really enjoyed it.
Have mobile, will tweet!
So, what will you be able to do with the service apart from the super FREE BIT? (i.e. Tweet Messages via SMS that will automagically appear on your twitter timeline)
- Receive twitter updates to your mobile via SMS message.
- Be selective of who’s updates you receive.
- Chose between receiving all Direct Messages or just those from a chosen few.
- Get @replies from anyone and everyone (if you wish)
- Send Direct Messages.
- And more ideas in the pipeline…

What will the service cost?
Well all SMS messages cost money to send out of course. If I can get just 100 people sign up for the service initially, then for £5 you will get 70 SMS messages to use as and when you please. They will never expire. Plus, if even more people sign up then any credit you have may increase in value. So you could end up with even more.
Get 10 FREE SMS if you sign up first.
The first 25 clever folk who prepay for their first batch of TweetBox SMS will get 10 FREE SMS.
Please use the payment form on the TweetBoxLive – Twitter SMS page.
Here’s looking forward to Twitter SMS
I can’t wait to get this finished and ready for you, so I’m off to get some rest before another long weekend of coding.
Why not follow the progress on my TweetBoxLive twitter account?

Recycling’s still popular you know
As I type this the council are outside emptying the recycling boxes of everyone’s bottles, paper, tins, etc. But who really knows what our councils are doing with it.
